TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION
Join Little Wilderness for an unforgettable after-dark bowfishing experience on a fully guided bowfishing trip! Bowfishing is a unique and exciting method of harvesting fish from a boat (or shore) using a compound bow and arrow with a string attached. As darkness settles in, powerful boat-mounted lights illuminate the water, allowing participants to spot a variety of fish below the surface. Once a fish is identified, our experienced guides will provide clear instruction on when and where to shoot, helping youth learn the techniques needed to be successful. Shooting into the water is both challenging and incredibly rewarding, making this a thrilling hands-on outdoor experience.
Participants will be met by a Little Wilderness coordinator at a TBD public lake or river access, where youth will be dropped off by a parent or guardian. Please do not leave your youth until you have checked in with our team. From there, we’ll meet the guides and prepare to embark on an exciting night on the water. Before launching, guides will walk the group through equipment use, safety protocols, fish identification, techniques, regulations, and proper bowfishing etiquette, while also answering any questions along the way. With a little luck, there will be opportunities to see and harvest fish during the outing.
Youth are required to bring a properly fitting PFD (life jacket), which must be worn for the duration of the event. All additional equipment will be provided, along with light snacks and water. Please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather, as it is always cooler on the water. We recommend dressing in layers, including gloves, a warm hat, and waterproof boots, and being prepared to get dirty.
Note: If you are 16 or 17 years old, you are required to have a Minnesota Angling License.
