Step into the wild world of raptors with Little Wilderness as we host a hands-on falconry education experience! This one-hour program invites young adventurers (and their grown-ups) to explore one of the oldest hunting partnerships between humans and animals: falconry. Led by active falconers from Minnesota, this experience is packed with knowledge and curiosity. Together, we’ll explore:
The ancient history of falconry
The species used and their natural history
How to become a falconer in Minnesota
Training techniques and essential equipment
The critical role falconers play in raptor conservation
Plus, our special guests will bring 1–2 live birds of prey for an up-close educational opportunity. If conditions allow, we may even witness a brief flight demonstration, though this cannot be guaranteed.
At Little Wilderness, our mission is to spark curiosity, confidence, and connection through meaningful outdoor experiences. This falconry event is more than just a lesson on birds, it’s a gateway into conservation, respect for wildlife, and the deep-rooted relationships humans have shared with animals for centuries. By learning about raptors, their habitats, and the people who care for and protect them, our youth gain a greater appreciation for the wild world and their own role in protecting it.
Join us for this unforgettable evening, where wild wings, big questions, and lifelong wonder take flight.
